DECA International Competition Features Top Marketing Students

Lindbergh High School seniors (L-R) Melissa McDaniel and Selma Kuduzovic’s Innovation Plan earned finalist honors at the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California, earlier this year. Both students were honored at the Missouri State Capitol on May 18.

Two Lindbergh High School seniors were honored with Proclamations of Excellence at the Missouri State Capitol on May 18 for earning international honors during International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California. Selma Kuduzovic and Melissa McDaniel’s Innovation Plan was named a finalist in the competition, which consisted of nearly 350 Missouri DECA competitors and 19,100 students from across the nation.
Nearly 2,000 high school students from across Missouri met to compete for statewide honors in the DECA marketing competitive events in March. Competitors who qualified by earning top scores at the state level advanced to the International Career Development Conference. DECA is an international association of high school students studying marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
